New Senior Minister
Assumes Duties

Rev. Elizabeth Thompson

The Board of Trustees of Unity Church of Sarasota announces the appointment of Reverend Elizabeth Thompson as the new Senior Minister of this 300 plus congregation. Rev. Thompson will conduct the 10 a.m. service on Sunday, October 19, as her first official duty. Her focus is on dynamic, heart-centered, and enthusiastic celebrations in worship, education, prayer, service and daily practice. She has been blessed with a beautiful singing voice which she uses in her services. Rev. Elizabeth led an inspirational, moving service for a packed audience at the church on September 14, and received rave reviews from the congregation.

Rev. Thompson has over 20 years of active experience in Unity, including seven years at Unity Renaissance, Chesapeake, VA, and four years at Christ Unity Church, Charlotte, NC. From 2004 through 2006 she and her husband, Neil, sailed the Florida Keys, the Bahama Island Chains, and the Chesapeake Bay. Rev. Elizabeth says: “Stepping back from my church ministry for these two years confirmed for me that ministry is truly my passion and love. It indeed was an adventure that has brought me back full circle into active church ministry.“ She and her husband look forward to living in the Sarasota community.
